Story with Client from Indonesia


This project is so SPECIAL, I would like to write it down for memory.

-- It was On 10-Jun 2017, we got this inquiry.

You see, it was just a normal inquiry but with very clear requirements like: 

  • raw material types and size, 
  • output wood chips size.
  • Capacity
  • Application of wood chips


It draw my attention because, he said they were looking for disc chipper. 
                 WHY #DISC CHIPPER? 
#Drum chipper would be more suitable for #pelleting chipper.
After several e-mails communication, they accepted #drum wood chipper and also were intended to buy wood debarking machine. We submitted detailed technical information and asked the order plan, client told us there would be some procedures to do, asked us to wait.

           NOTHING COULD DO, BUT WAITING!
Then times flied, we were busy with other projects. We also made some routine following up with this client, we just found the client has strongly internal plan, hardly effected by any marketing.

-- It was on 01-Mar,2018,we received the purchased order ↓:
ORDER FOR:  
  • 25TPH wood chipper + one year spare parts
  • one knife sharpener

After one week, we received another order for 
  • 20TPH wood debarking machine. 

Production purpose: They were going to use the debarking machine before wood chipper, so that the output wood chips would be clean without barks, they were going to make #premium wood pellets for exporting to Japan.
Upon receiving 50% deposit, production started. 

Before the delivery, we tested the machine with local wood and took the pictures and videos to client.

After the balance payment received
3*40HQ containers were shipped to Jakarta on 04-May 2018




            EVERYTHING WAS JUST BE ALL RIGHT.
Then they called for our engineer to Indonesia for machine installation and commissioning. We accepted and arranged the trip. Engineer Sun and I flied to Indonesia in June.


-- Installation and commissioning 


It was REALLY quite a long journey, we transmitted via 5 airports from China, and took 72 hours to arrive. But it was worthy. Kalimantan had beautiful sky and sunset. Most of all, the client was very very BIG, they were joint venture by South Korea, Japan and Indonesia.






It was not the first time for them to use drum chipper.

  • Their biggest #drum wood chipper was made in Italy. 
They turned to Chinese machine to reduce the cost.
  • They also purchased similar drum chipper from another big Chinese company.but that was a unpleasant deal . They told us the output wood chips were too big, parts replacement was time consuming, and it was difficult to get after-sale service. 

Knowing those, we told ourselves to be more hardworking, to supply best service to our client.
Their site was inside a plantation, they owned wood pellet mill, plywood mill, timber mill, wood chips mill and power plant, over 30 units of different types of machine were running there.

We had meeting every morning and afternoon. 

In the morning we made the plan and in the afternoon we checked out the progresses, we were asked to submit a daily report. 



We spent 5 days for installation and 2 days for commissioning, and another 1 day for workers training. 

  • Wood chipper was quite satisfactory by the client, the output wood chips were in required size and capacity was accepted. 
  • Some reinforcement job was done on wood debarking machine, because the barks were longer than our expected, it generated some problems on discharging conveyor, and made the machine vibration. 

Their mechanical/electrical team were very professional and their teamwork was excellent. We solve the problems together.




I would like to say, it is impressive trip!
Like other Korean and Japanese companies, they were rigorous and serious when in office but, leisure and relax part-time. It was true SAFETY IS FIRST there and everyone was wearing heavy security boots in such hot weather, even general manager no exception. Rule was rule!





Workers were local and in their 20's, very young but well-trained.



When in the evening, they played PING PONG, made body building. The guys were allowed to have the beer only on every Friday, there were two housemaid and one driver took care the livings, rooms were clean and meals changed everyday with sea foods, vegetable, meat and Kim chi. In weekends they played golf, or went to the downtown for rest and fun. They showed me how to enjoy life even working in remote area.

That is a successful foreign company in Indonesia, a lot of things for us to learn.


We, also performance as our best, wins client' respect and satisfactory.


I think that's why they placed two new orders with us in last month(JUN-2019).
